Hi!  We are Laurel and Carly - two sisters who grew up in Southern Indiana with a lust for the beach. (I mean, who doesn’t have a lust for the beach when you are surrounded by farmland?) We were lucky enough to be raised by parents who gauged success not on how big your house was, how fancy your clothes were, or how much jewelry you accrued, but by how many times a year you could get your family out of town.

For our parents, that was at least twice a year.  Now, let’s be real.  These weren’t lavish vacations.  You would never find our family exploring unknown cities, taming horses at a dude ranch, tackling a theme park, or chartering a boat overseas.  Nope.  All of that sounds exhausting, quite frankly. What we WERE doing was posting up at a beach for the week - usually with our cousins - with coolers filled with sandwiches we just made in a rented condo with limited beach toys, but plenty of music, cold beverages, and cherished time together.  Now in our forties (how did that happen?), our husbands gradually embraced our need to get away years ago. (They didn’t exactly have a choice. It’s in our blood, after all, right?)  And, our kids were easy sells.

The lifestyle we refer to includes little to no planning.  If you live to plan a minute-to-minute Disney World trip, we aren’t your people. In fact, we have anxiety thinking about it.  If you have stayed at the same place multiple times without exploring the town other than its beaches - welcome home.  Our kids thought the rental that we’ve stayed at on the Gulf Coast for 20+ years was our second home.  Bless them.

Now back to PIBE.  PIBE – or Play It By Ear.  This mantra was born out of a slower lifestyle. Taking a vacation as it comes, rather than planning it into something.  When we’re on vacation, there are no plans other than sitting on the beach and enjoying each other’s company.  We might run to the pool, rent a pontoon boat for the day, grab a tee time, play pickleball, or go out to dinner, but what we won’t do is plan any of it.

The brand was born to accommodate these unplanned days that turn into the best times of your life.  So, when you are asking yourself Where Next – look to us. We’ll help you PIBE.
